Nicot beehive elements and accessories
NICOTPLAST was founded in France in 1973 and has been producing high-quality components and accessories for beekeeping ever since. The products manufactured on plastic injection moulding machines are made from recyclable plastic.

Hive elements such as the pallets, the soles, the floor, the flight hole sliders, the frames, the roof, the clips and the centring aids are injection moulded in one or more parts and coloured (without paint or solvents). The parts are made of HDPE (high-density polyethylene), a recyclable plastic. They are rot-proof and resistant to external influences (the material is identical to that of the waste bins) and resistant to all chemicals, acids and bases. These elements can be used immediately upon receipt without modification.

To avoid deformation of the parts, the parts should ALWAYS be stored flat.

The frames, the tray drawer, the wintering plate, the feeder and the matching transparent inserts are made from other high-quality materials to ensure quality and suitability for the intended purpose.

THE MOST IMPORTANT ADVANTAGES

CLEANING
The parts are very easy to clean and can be cleaned by brushing, scraping, with a steam jet (60°C, 60 bar), soaking in water + bleach (disinfection) or soaking in hot water (60°C) + caustic soda.

WEIGHT
All products have a low weight. A complete Nicot hive made of plastic, without frames, consisting of a base, a frame, a honey chamber, the feeder and lid, weighs just over 10 kg.

COSTS
The ready-to-use individual parts that Nicot produces for its plastic beehive have a very good price/performance ratio due to their high durability.

DEVELOPMENT OF THE HIVE
In France, it was found that bee colonies develop faster in plastic hives than in wooden hives.
Thanks to the air gap insulation achieved by the double wall system, the broiler trays look different, the environment is drier and there is no mould in the trays.

The elements of the beehives are tested and modified before they are launched on the market. Nicotplast develops its products throughout the four seasons. They are subject to constant monitoring in all climatic conditions to ensure that the products meet expectations in the best possible way.

To this end, Christian NICOT runs his own apiary with 100 bee colonies (all in separable hives, "Dadant Blatt 10er Zargen", with plastic floor, plastic frames, plastic frames, plastic feeder and plastic roof). Only in this way is it possible for Nicotplast to use its own products and test them under real conditions and in large quantities to prove their suitability in practice.
